Working At Kodak

I work in the motion picture division of Eastman Kodak in Rochester NY. If you work at Kodak or work in this field of imaging with film, you know that Kodak is going through some bad times. I have worked there for 27 years and for the last 10 years they have been trying to change the business model. It has been hard to give up the profit on film and move to digital. Consumers have moved away from film, Kodak has answered with digital cameras. We in motion picture also have been making the move to digital display and digital intermediate.

We have fond that the film products that we sell for the theater and TV have continued very good media to tell a story. There are many technical and subjective reasons for the using of film. this is still a art, the good DP's will always know how to convey with images there thoughts and emotions.

There is always a place for film and video or data imaging. With technology moving and very one trying to get on the communication bandwagon you wounder how will come out on top. I know that the people I work with strive to make that imaging business live and well with film.

I will start to BLOG about DI (digital Intermediate) for the people that have the urge to Tell there STORIES on a cell phone and all the way to shooting on film.
